An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team on the Chatsfield Suite. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, team player who is passionate about providing high quality care.
Chatsfield Suite is Doncaster and Bassetlaw's Haemato-oncology day unit. We provide individualised holistic patient care in a nurse led environment. The treatments offered include; pre SACT investigations, supportive treatments including blood transfusions, IV fluids, venesections and IVIGs as well as systemic anti cancer therapies.
Chatsfield Suite is an exciting area to work in with an ever evolving range of treatments offered.
Main duties of the job
This role is a hybrid one that consists of coordinator and healthcare responsibilities.
As coordinator you will pick up both oncology and haematology patient referrals, allocate a treatment date and pre SACT investigations and liaise with the relevant team to notify. The coordinator is pivotal in ensuring patient flow and organisation.
Other responsibilities include; assistance with ADL's, venepuncture, cannulation, clinical observations, applying scalp cooling hats.
As coordinator you will act as a bridge between the patient and MDT both in the trust and across the cancer network. You will receive referrals for treatment via email and through the online prescribing system, allocate treatment, allocate pre SACT investigations, supportive care and communicate with the relevant clinical teams. The coordinator helps to control patient flow and taking telephone enquiries.
Clinically you will; assist patients with their ADL's, venepuncture, cannulation, venesection and scalp cooling.
