Deputy Clinical Director Anaesthesia

Job summary

You will work jointly with the Divisional Director, General and Business Manager and Divisional Nurse contributing to the quality and performance of the Division.

Main duties of the job

You will contribute to all relevant operational, developmental and strategic matters across Anaesthetics, Critical Care, Pain Management and Pre-Operative Assessment.

You will contribute to the strategic leadership and direction of the specialty, ensuring that consistent, high quality care is delivered within the Service across each of the Trusts sites.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Divisional Leadership Team to develop the long-term clinical vision.
  • Providing strong and effective lead and advice to inform specialty/pathway decisions.
  • Ensuring effective, safe and high-quality care to all patients and provide input into the governance processes.
  • Working with the matron and business manager to ensure that the division delivers clinical and non-clinical performance targets as set by Trust.
  • Working with the general and business manager to manage financial and workforce performance to deliver agreed standards.
  • Responsibility for ensuring job planning is complete for all colleagues in the directorate.
  • Active contribution to the improvement programs in the Trust to reduce waste and improve delivery and quality.
