Job summary
At Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) we are looking for two highly influential, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals with a great vision, energy, and drive, to join the Trust's Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director.
As a Non-Executive Director you will be required to bring personal commitment to the role, independence, impartiality, a wide range of experience, special knowledge, and personal qualities. You will also be an experienced non-executive director (or of equivalent role) and have senior and/or Board level experience gained in a large/complex organisation - preferably within the public sector, but not exclusively.
In addition to this, you should be able to demonstrate the following key skills:

Main duties of the job
As a Non-Executive Director you have a responsibility to:
o Support the Trust Chair, Chief Executive & Executive Directors, promoting Trust's values, positive culture throughout the Trust & adopt behaviours in the boardroom that exemplify the corporate cultureo Constructively challenge proposed decisions of the Board of Directors & ensure that appropriate challenges made, & help develop proposals on priorities; risk mitigation, values & standards , contribute to the development of strategy.o Support continued development & promotion of a positive, constructive relationship with the Council of Governors.o Scrutinise the performance of Executive management in meeting goals & objectives; & achieve satisfaction to the integrity of financial, clinical & other information, that financial & clinical quality controls & systems of risk management & governance are sound are used;o Ensure that you receive adequate information in the form that is specified & to monitor the reporting of performance
As a result of COVID-19, much of this will take place virtually as statutory monthly meetings, however there will be an expectation that some site visits will be required. You will share responsibility with other directors for the decisions made by the Board & for the success of the organisation in leading the local improvement of healthcare services for patients.
