Job summary
This exciting part time opportunity in the renal dietetic team would suit a band 5 dietitian whowould like to specialise in an interesting and rewarding area of dietetics or a band 6 dietitian looking to further develop their skills and expertise.
We will also consider those wanting to consider a band 5 to band 6 development opportunity.
The post holder will be supported by an MDT who truly value dietetics and a dynamic, forward thinking dietetic team.
The post holder will provide a high quality, evidence based dietetic service as part of a specialist multidisciplinary renal team and be aspecialist clinician within dietetics
They will provide clinical expertise in renal services across Doncaster and Bassetlaw, managing their own caseload and working collaboratively with colleaguesto meet the needs of patients.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for:
- Providing a Dietetic Service to a caseload of patients, who require nutritional and dietetic support, using evidence based patient centred principles, to assess, plan, implement and evaluate dietetic interventions.
- Providing advice and ongoing support to patients who have clinical, emotional, psychological and social problems with support of other team members and direct clinical supervision.
- Overcomes barriers to communication and acceptance and plays a role in developing educational resources for patient use.
- Sharing the role of developing and delivering training packages to staff, other health professionals and group education for patients with renal disease
- Taking responsibility for ensuring own continuing professional development, and actively participating in the Trust's clinical governance programme through audit and research activities.
