An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior registered nurse to join the Division of Medicine as Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse on Ward 25. Ward 25 is a 24 bedded mixed sex ward, which specialises in Diabetes and Endocrinology and also cares for patients with a variety of medical conditions.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated experienced nurse with excellent clinical knowledge in Diabetes and Endocrine to join our team and take a leading role.

You will be working in collaboration with the other ward sisters/charge nurse within ward 25 nursing team and there will be an expectation that you will work together to provide the leadership and management for the team and leads the nursing team in the delivery of excellent care to our patients and they contribute to the management and development of seamless, multi-disciplinary care for patients and their carers.

The successful applicant will support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, and in their absence, take responsibility for the planning, practice and evaluation of nursing care supporting all junior grades of nursing staff and escalating any issues to the senior nursing team.

You will have the ability to develop a culture of continuous improvement with a particular emphasis on the patient journey and clinical outcomes.

You will be an aspiring leader with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and the wider MDT. You will lead by example and maintain high standards at all times.
