Job summary
We have an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and forward thinking physiotherapist to become our Safer Mobility Specialist Physiotherapist within our Acute Physiotherapy Team.
You will be highly experienced in assessing patients who have fallen or who are at risk of falls and will help to drive our Trust falls agenda. As part of our fight against deconditioning, you will work with members of the multi-disciplinary team to lead implementation of quality improvement projects to keep our inpatients moving, improve management of falls patients and reduce the number of inpatient falls. You will form a key part of the inpatient therapy team, working side by side with the ward therapists and provide specialist advice and education for staff.
You will also work alongside the Trust Falls Practitioner to jointly review patients and provide support and guide in the cases of high-risk falls patients. You will attending meetings that are key to promoting safer mobility including Falls Learning Group, Falls Steering Group and Falls and Bone Health along with networking with the South Yorkshire Falls Group. You will share learning from these with our teams.
Another key element of the role is in education and you will share knowledge at key learning events such as the Excellence in Patient Care day along with informal teaching in the ward environment

Main duties of the job
o To provide operational management and leadership to the Safer Mobility/Falls team.o To manage own caseload and to provide a high standard of assessment, management, treatment and advice to meet the needs ofpatients.o To act as a point of contact for other agencies for issues relating to Falls prevention and management.o To work collaboratively with colleagues in health, social care, local authority and other agencies to meet the needs of patients.o To ensure Clinical Governance is integral to service delivery within the specialty area.o To lead Quality Improvement work to support maintaining mobility whilst in hospital and reduction in number of falls within the Trusto To promote importance of preventing deconditioning in inpatients, and lead training and Qi projects in relation to thiso To enhance skills of multi-disciplinary team in supporting patients after falls in hospitalo To enhance skills of multi-disciplinary team in falls prevention
