Associate Director of Planning, Performance and Improvement

Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT

The closing date is 01 December 2024

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (DBTH) as the Associate Director of Planning, Performance and Improvement. The role will play an important leadership role in the ongoing development of our Trust Strategy and supporting its delivery, particularly in respect of progressing our partnerships and collaborative opportunities.

You will be a values based leader, role modelling our DBTH Way and We Care Values through your everyday behaviours and interactions with colleagues. You will be driven by a passion for making a difference and motivating others.

The successful applicant will be responsible for three key areas across the organisation: Planning, Performance and Improvement. These functions, although distinct, will be led through this role to create a culture of continuous improvement where data driven insights coupled with an effective planning process and performance assurance framework support the Trust in delivering exceptional healthcare for all.

You will deputise for the Deputy Chief Executive on the areas appropriate to the portfolio you lead.

Main duties of the job

You will lead the Trust's business planning processes and ensure a high-quality deliverable plan is developed with support across the organisation which delivers the Trust's objectives. Working closely with colleagues you will also ensure alignment between our operational plans and Trust Strategy.

You will develop a culture of improvement; training and empowering staff to re-design and re-model the care they deliver, whilst supporting the Quality Improvement Team to thrive.

You will provide leadership to the Trust's work on health inequalities and those colleagues working to reduce them, including oversight of the QUIT team aligned with the wider Healthier Hospitals Programme.

You will ensure the Trust has effective processes to monitor its performance throughout the organisation and clear governance to manage performance related risks and issues as they arise.

Working closely with operational and clinical colleagues, the post-holder will perform a bridging role between planning, operational performance; improvement and informatics to ensure improvement programmes and operational performance improvement plans reflect best practice both in the desired outcomes and the way in which plans are delivered.
