Job summary
Are you a highly motivated individual who enjoys organising and planning? An opportunity has arisen for a Medical Education Coordinator to support the Medical Education Team at DBTH . Postgraduate Medical Education are responsible for supporting the education and training of all resident doctors within the Trust, both Doctors in Training Posts, and SAS Doctors.
Applicants are invited to apply for the role of Medical Education Coordinator from individuals with excellent organisational and communication skills. The role involves communicating with a wide range of people at all levels, both internal and external to the organisation. We are looking for individuals who are self-starters and can perform both autonomously and as part of the team. You will be able to manage and prioritise a highly demanding, and at times complex workload, which can require meticulous attention to detail and the ability to be able to work under pressure adhering to tight deadlines.
The successful applicant will play an important role in providing an efficient and comprehensive admin and clerical service to the Medical Education Manager, the Associate Director of Education, Head of Education (practice learning) and the wider medical education faculty. This role is key to the smooth running of the service and supporting the next generation of our medical workforce.
Main duties of the job
Direct allocation of all medical education placement activity that meets the requirements of the General Medical Council (GMC), working alongside all key internal/external stakeholders- Royal College Tutors, Clinical and Educational Supervisors, Trainee Representatives, Associate Director of Education, NHS England (NHSE); to support high quality placement provision.
Coordinate and communicate all medical education teaching schedules/placement allocations to all areas as required.
Schedule all new starting learners to the relevant Trust local and corporate inductions, including the implementation of a dedicated IMG induction package for non- UK graduates.
To deal with complex medical education placement queries and escalate any concerns as needed to medical education Manager that are beyond scope of role.
Support the administration of study leave expenses from doctors in training, ensuring that claims are processed in a timely manner and in line with curriculum delivery guidance. Ensure that the most up to date guidance on Study leave is circulated to the relevant stakeholders and that applications are processed in line with both national guidance from NHSE and DBTH Trust policy.
