Job summary

A new position has been created for an Applications & Assets Configuration Analyst, whose primary purpose will be to support and develop the Trust's IT asset register, configuration and process documentation library, and associated systems, and work with others inside and outside of the immediate team to use information from those systems to provide support in managing, maintaining, developing, and optimising the value obtained from the Trust's digital infrastructure.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, organised, and enthusiastic individual to join an existing team of IT professionals providing technical support, development, maintenance, and security services for all the Trusts IT systems and infrastructure.

The post-holder may also support other colleagues in the team by assisting with the triage and where possible resolution of day-to-day operational issues arising within the team's remit, referring to and developing the documentation library accordingly.

The position will require the ability to be flexible in approach and respond effectively to varying demands and have the ability to communicate with staff at all levels, working effectively and efficiently as part of a team.

The post-holder will predominantly be expected to work on a shift-basis normally covering hours between 8 AM and 6 PM, but occasional out of hours working may be needed to support system implementations, upgrades, and in support of major incident situations.

Main duties of the job

To take ownership as an Information Asset Administrator for IT systems associated with hardware, software and user account related asset and configuration management, helping to promote a culture of continuous quality and service improvement.

To support and lead (where applicable and delegated by the Digital Infrastructure Manager) on the development of the Trust's use of IT asset and configuration management systems.

To work with the Digital Infrastructure Manager, IT Security Manager and IT Support Manager to lead and coordinate action on the recovery of under-utilised assets and where intervention is needed in respect of asset failure rates, visibility, or updates position.

To assist the Digital Infrastructure Manager, IT Security Manager and IT Support Manager in the organisation and coordination of planned downtime windows as required for the maintenance of IT assets, working closely with Information Asset Owners, IT support staff and service stakeholders.

To support and contribute to the delivery of work packages as defined by the Digital Programme as agreed between the Digital Programme and the Digital Infrastructure Manager, including assistance to colleagues in specifying requirements and the implementation of IT assets.
