Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals Teaching NHS Foundation Trust is looking for someone who is ready to join a business unit embarking on new and exciting changes.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a thriving Emergency Department Admin Team. This is a very busy role where no two days will be the same and is continually improving excellent quality care for patients.
This is a busy role where excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills are essential. You will be used to working quickly and accurately under pressure.
You will also offer a range of comprehensive secretarial and administrative services to the wider Clinical and Management team including support to the Emergency Department Reception Team.
Main base will be DRI however; cross site working will be required to BDGH where necessary
Main duties of the job
As part of the ED secretarial team you will be required to provide a comprehensive range of secretarial/ administrative support for a variety of departmental activities:
- Typing of medical reports, letters & memos. Attend various meetings within & on behalf of the dept, taking relevant minutes for typing; utilising copy typing & audio typing for all members of the ED Management Team
- Researching patients records for relevant information to declare on medical reports & assist with responses for complaints.
- Maintain Management Team diaries & organise meetings & appointments
- Liaise with Police, Solicitors, GP's & other organisations
- Manage your own workload & be able to prioritise.
- Pull & photocopy medical notes in response to requests from a variety of agencies and file back. Request patient documentation from other departments as required
- Provide clerical support for junior doctor arrangements inc. administration of training arrangements
