Job summary

Exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Sister to join the Neonatal Unit at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised holistic care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team on the Neonatal Unit.

To have a specialist interest in infant feeding and lead and support the BFI team on the neonatal unit. The BFI link role will be for a fixed term of 18 months- 2 years at which point this will be reviewed.

Main duties of the job

Ability to demonstrate up to date knowledge of neonatal policies, procedures and working practices.

Provide care to infants requiring admission to the neonatal unit.

Demonstrate professional post-registration development and leadership in order to effectively manage a ward team. The role will involve working closely with the infant feeding team to maintain Baby Friendly accreditation (BFI).

Work collaboratively with other neonatal units and the Yorkshire and Humber Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (ODN).
