This post is an exciting opportunity to gain the skills and qualifications to become a qualified Pharmacy Technician.
Roles of Technicians are rapidly developing. We're seeing far more areas of responsibilities than ever before. With exciting developments in Primary and Secondary Care, this training post will ensure that you get sufficient experience in both.
This 2 year fixed term, Level 3 Apprenticeship will be based at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals where a rotation plan covering Dispensary, Ward and Aseptic work will give you a variety of skills to take into your Pharmacy Technician career.
Once qualified, we will assist you in registering with the GPhC, where this will allow you to apply for the role of Pharmacy Technician. Starting salary of a Pharmacy Technician is usually Band 4 and starts at £26,530 rising to £29,114 after 3 years. Further to this, opportunities for Band 5 (£29,970- £36,483) and Band 6 (£37,338- £44,962) work is growing more common place, especially with the increased integration with Primary Care.
Main duties of the job
This unique opportunity is a 2 year position cross-sector post that includes a rotation plan with South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board. This means that you will gain experience in the Primary Sector where the role of Pharmacy Technician is rapidly developing. Experience working across multiple GP surgeries will allow you to increase networking as well as multiple ways of learning.
To be considered for this apprenticeship you will need to be a highly organised individual, capable of meeting deadlines and working both as part of a team or on your own. You will be issued a rotation plan to cover Doncaster, Bassetlaw and South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board to supportyour training.
Throughout your Pharmacy career you will be expected to demonstrate continuous professional development. The minimum entry requirements are 4 GCSEs at Level 4 or above (or equivalent), these must include English Language, Mathematics and 1 Science.Your apprenticeship will ensure you receive full training and knowledge in order to deliver excellent, safe patient care, whether you are dispensing; using an automated dispensing system, taking part in medicines reconciliation; working within a pharmacy ward based team, or preparing Asepticproducts.You'll receive 3.5 days 'on the job' training in the workplace and 1.5 days 'off the job' to undertake a distance learning.
