Job summary

The Clinical Support Coordinator will work within the Doncaster and Bassetlaw clinical site team and will provide clinical support and assistance to the Clinical Site Manager and Medical staff in the assessment and treatment of patients requiring emergency intervention/treatment.

The post holder's role will also be required to ensure that patients have a seamless journey and discharge and that the patient's pathway is effectively managed across site.

The Clinical Support Coordinator will have the ability to work at NVQ Level 3 status, which will enable him/her to be involved in the holistic care of adult patients

This post is nights only, across both Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Bassetlaw Hospital trust sites.

Main duties of the job

Provide basic nursing care to patients, demonstrating respect for privacy and dignity and patient choice

Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, oxygen saturation level and blood glucose level) of patients demonstrate an understanding of the normal range and report any abnormal recordings to practitioner/medical staff.

Record early warning score and report any abnormal reading to nursing staff

Perform venepuncture as requested by the ACP/nursing/medical staff within Trust policy and once appropriate training has been given

Record ECG's once appropriate training has been given and within Trust policy, reporting findings to nursing/medical team

Carry out cannulation as requested by the ACP/nursing/medical team once appropriate training has been given.
