Job summary
We are currently recruiting a head of audiology for DBTH on a fixed term contract for one year. You will need to share our vision to be theHealthier together - delivering exceptional healthcare for all.
This a fantastic opportunity to join an audiology team who are on an improvement journey.
You will work closely with the business manager and Matron for audiology, being supported by a senior leadership team who are invested in improving access to the full range of audiology services, including participating in the development and implementation of national and local policy across the department to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of evidence-based care.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible clinically, managerially and professionally for all Audiology staff employed by the Trust, including being responsible for clinical governance, clinical efficacy and patient outcomes and ensuring high-quality evidence based leading-edge servicebest clinical practice.
To deliver a comprehensive all age Audiology service to the populations of Doncaster, Bassetlaw, Mexborough and Retford.
To plan and conduct a comprehensive range of diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiology procedures for both adults and children.
The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.

- High level of specialist Audiology knowledge and significant management experience.
- In- depth working knowledge of current national standards, policies, professional recommendations, and guidelines.
- Significant experience of working within the clinical Audiology field
- Proven clinical and managerial experience at senior level within a multi-disciplinary audiology service
- Extensive experience working both as an independent practitioner and supervisor for a wide range of audiological assessment and rehabilitative techniques for all age groups
- Experience of clinical diagnostic quality management, governance and assurance, including assessment against UKAS IQIPS
Desirable
- Experience with audiology related healthcare partners and stakeholders
- Involvement with lead projects or research
Qualifications / Training

- MSc Degree in Audiological Science or equivalent skills and experience.
- State Registration as a Clinical Scientist or Clinical Physiologist in Audiology.
- Evidence of mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice.
- Training in NHS procedures, protocols and policies.

- Leadership or Management qualification or an equivalent level of experience.
- Member of an Audiology Professional group (eg BAA, BAPA).
