This is a senior Nursing role within the organisation and there is an expectation that the post holder will fully participate in the leadership and delivery of high quality patient care within the Care Group.The post holder will be an experienced dental nurse.The prime function of the role is to provide clinical expertise in supporting the delivery of high standards of nursing care for patients within the Oral Maxilla Facial and Orthodontic serviceWork collaboratively with the multi professional team to develop and maintain a quality service for patients within specialityTo provide expert clinical nursing, education and advice in all aspects of the speciality.Facilitate an improvement in the quality of health and outcome of care to this client group.To act as a source of expertise and knowledge for patients, carers and health professionals as well as other agencies involved in this speciality.To work with multi-disciplinary teams both in hospital and the community, in the provision of optimal care, to improve quality of life.The post-holder is responsible for supporting the continuous improvement of quality of services and safeguarding high standards of care by sustaining an environment in which excellence in clinical care can flourish
Main duties of the job
To be be responsible the day to day management of the Oral Maxillo-Facial Department , and to provide skilled dental nursing support, to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and to provide dental nursing support the provision of an outpatient based service in Orthodontics, Oral Maxillo-Facial Surgery, Head and Neck Cancer Services, Orthognathic surgery.
Although services are predominantly based at Mexborough Hospital, some procedures may be performed in theatres at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
