Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for individuals with relevant experience, and knowledge to join us as Patient Safety Partners, providing a patient voice regarding the safety agenda at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Foundation Trust. The Patient Safety Partner (PSP) a paidrole developed by the NHS to help improve patient safety within NHS organisations.
We are looking for enthusiastic, caring, enquiring and motivated people who are passionate about helping us make sure we deliver safe, high-quality care. They will bring an independent perspective and will be involved, as an equal partner, in a wide range of activities and programmes. The time commitment for each Patient Safety Partner will be dependent on the areas of work that they are involved. We aim to be as flexible as possible, but with a view for this to be 12 hours per month.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of patient safety partner (PSP) will include:
- Forming part of the Safety governance committees in the trust.
- Support compliance monitoring and how safety issues should be addressed.
- Provide an appropriate challenge from a public voice perspective.
- Supporting the development and implementation of strategies and policies where appropriate.
- Support learning lessons and how they are implemented and evaluated.
- Attending support meetings and training events.
- Ensuring that any committees that you hold membership consider and prioritise the service user, patient, carer, and family perspective, and that it champions a diverse view.
- Supporting and providing mentorship to new PSPs when required.
- Support clinical audits relating to patient safety when required.
- Adhering to the principles of the PSP agreement,
