Job summary
The successful candidate will be paid at AfC Band 3 during the training period and then on successful completion of training (HSD) will progress to AfC Band 4.
DBTH has preferred provider status to manage the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) screening programme across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw. An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, enthusiastic individual, who has excellent communication skills and is an effective team player, to join our team.The screening office is located at Montagu Hospital. However, your role will be to rotate through community clinics based throughout South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw, undertaking abdominal aortic ultrasound scanning as part of the National Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme. The role requires highly developed physical skills where a high level of precision and hand-eye co-ordination are essential.
The ability to travel independently with access to your own vehicle (with business insurance) is essential as the service is community based.
Main duties of the job
To undertake abdominal ultrasound scanning as part of the community based National Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme (NAAASP). To ensure scanning is undertaken to a high standard and in accordance with national and local standard operating procedures. To explain the process to screening participants attending the community abdominal aortic aneurysm screening and surveillance clinics. To explain the screening test results and their implications. To provide reassurance following results.
