Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced pharmacist to join our expanding critical care team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated professional, with a desire to thrive and learn in a clinically focused team. Applicants should have excellent communication and organisational skills, an ability to prioritise, plan and direct workload and have experience of supporting and developing colleagues.
Our Pharmacy is a friendly, progressive department where clinical services are led by our Consultant Pharmacists and provided in a supportive team environment. Our team is a respected integral part of the wider multidisciplinary team.
Our modern service embraces technology with electronic prescribing, automated dispensaries and laptops for mobile working and point of care information access.
You will have the opportunity to teach/mentor PG diploma students, and will be encouraged to pursue further education and/or research interests.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will provide expert clinical pharmacy services to the critical care departments across site. Key elements of the post will include:
- personal delivery of expert clinical pharmacy to critical care patients
- personal delivery of expert clinical pharmacy to patients requiring parenteral nutrition
- provision of clinical supervision and mentorship to other pharmacists and pharmacy staff
- provision of expert advice at policy and individual patient care levels
- provision of pharmaceutical advice to the Department of Critical Care
Applicants should have a post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy (or equivalent experience), and significant experience of clinical pharmacy including in critical care and parenteral nutrition.
