An opportunity has arisen for a registered Nurse to join our fantastic team within the Day Surgery Units at Mexborough Montagu Hospital.
The dedicated nurse led units provide pre and post operative care for elective adult surgery comprising of , Urology, Vascular, Ophthalmic, General Surgery, Max fax surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic and Podiatry surgery. We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible individual to assist in providing excellent and efficient care for our patients. In depth preceptorship will be provided to newly qualified nurses.
We have committed teams within each department and staff who rotate through departments and specialities who are keen to share their knowledge and skills to the right candidates.We offer yearly mandatory training, ongoing support and an opportunity for you to develop a successful and exciting surgical nursing career.
We are looking for highly motivated and adaptable individuals who take pride in their work to complement our established and friendly day unit at Mexborough. Rotation across sites is possible for those wanting to develop their broader knowledge and experience.
Main duties of the job
Provide care for patients requiring day surgery from admission to discharge.
Ability to adapt to changing situations assessing and recognising the deteriorating patient and escalate accordingly.
Providing psychological support and coaching for patients. Support with discharge planning and teaching.
Ensure informative and precise post-operative information for patients.
Flexibly to cover the hours of duty from 07.00 to 21.00 Monday to Friday and 0700-16.00 Saturday.

Although your base of employment will be at Mexborough Montagu Hospital , there may be occasions when you are required to support the Day Surgery Service at any one of our three hospital sites.
