Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Management Accountant to join the Management Accounts Team, part of the DBTH Finance Department.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of monthly Management Accounts information to internal stakeholders and providing a high quality Management Accounts service to the Trust.

The role will be an integral part of the Management Accounts Team providing a reliable and responsive Management Accounts service to ensure the provision of high quality financial advice and information to a variety of staff within the Trust, and at different levels.

In return, you will be an important part of a committed and high performing finance team, gaining valuable experience in an ever changing and challenging acute NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

The main duties include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing accruals & prepayments with clear and concise working papers to feed the monthly reporting process.
  • Preparation of monthly financial projections.
  • Provision of supplementary information to focus attention upon areas where stricter monitoring is required
  • To participate in the provision of budget holder training

  • Accounting related degree/AAT starter/part qualified or equivalent experience
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above

Desirable

  • Actively studying towards an AAT member or equivalent (NVQ level 5)

Experience

Essential

  • A minimum of one years' proven experience in an accounting environment. This experience should have been obtained in the last three years
  • Basic IT skills, in particular the ability to use Microsoft Excel

Desirable

  • Experience of working within an Acute NHS organisation
  • Use of ledger systems

  • Ability to prioritise own workload to achieve deadlines
  • Deliver a high standard in how work is presented, including good attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
