Job summary
As a registered Nurse you will be responsible for providing the highest standard of individualised holistic patient care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
You will be responsible for supporting your Manager in ensuring that our ward needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centred approach to their independence and well-being.
This post is open to a Registered Nurse with a passion for delivering high quality safe care, with the ability to work well within a first class team. The successful applicant will be provided with an induction programme to suit their individual needs.
As a Staff Nurse working in the Urology inpatients ward you will be a valued member of the team, providing high quality care to patients, in a professional, compassionate and competent manner. You will be able to contribute ideas and support clinical initiatives in order to provide evidence based patient care.
The Ward is actively committed to looking at ways to improve the patient experience, ensuring we create an environment where patients feel safe, cared for and confident in treatment they receive and strive to be the best provider in our class.
Main duties of the job
- At all times to work in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Participate in the Trusts Strategy for Nursing and Midwifery.
- Maintaining at all times the highest standard of nursing care for patients and their family. Ensuring that all members of the team receive adequate support. Contributing to the development of a staff support network for the ward/dept.
- Being conversant with all Trust nursing policies and strategy and ensuring that these are implemented at clinic level.
- Maintaining an efficient reporting system so that effective communication is established between medical and nursing staff ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Being aware of Clinical Governance procedures and documentation for reporting any incidents that may occur.
- Being aware of all Health and Safety policies maintaining the safety of staff and patients at all times.
- Promoting good public relations with the multidisciplinary team and the public.
- Checking administering and witnessing the administration of drugs. Being conversant with the Trust Policies relating to reporting any discrepancies found.
- Carrying out Nursing Procedures to the highest standards and supervising junior staff doing the same. Contributing to continual review and development of standards.
- Liaise with members of the Multidisciplinary Team, other Directorates within the Trust according to patient needs.
- To work within scope of practices.
