Job summary

Working with the multidisciplinary team you have an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of mothers and babies, with specific action in a range of areas including smoking and Co2 monitoring, obesity, immunisation during pregnancy and the increasing ethnic and cultural diversity of childbearing women.

Main duties of the job

Work in partnership with the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Local Maternity and Neonatal System prevention workstreams.

Identify the needs of the local population and develop targeted support as required to improve access to services

To support the implementation of evidence based smoking cessation practices for pregnant smokers within a variety of settings - antenatal, children's centres and health centres.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current NMC registration as a midwife
  • Recognised management / leadership qualification
  • Commitment to professional development and evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) including cannulation
  • Teaching qualification
  • Current driving licence and use of a car

Desirable

  • Post graduate degree at Master level or relevant experience.
  • NLS trained

Experience

Essential

  • Qualified midwife with a minimum of 3 years' experience as a band 6 midwife.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with a range of services
  • Able to engage with service users and understanding coproduction
  • Qualified Degree Level in relevant course
  • Evidence of experience of taking charge or managing a caseload and can demonstrate the ability or undertaking 24 hour responsibility for the ward / department
  • Broad range of senior post qualification experience
  • Experience of service development, leading and managing change.
  • Experience of research or audit in clinical practice which has been used to improve care provided for patients
  • Evidence of change management experience or training
  • Experience with the collation and interpretation of audits
