Job summary

Our Pharmacy is a friendly, progressive department. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and progressive Pharmacy Technician to join our department to support training and education within pharmacy.

The successful candidate will support training and education throughout pharmacy.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role are to support training and education within pharmacy.

The post holder will support training of pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants, trainee pharmacist's and undergraduate pharmacy placements.

The post holder will also develop and support training of all technical staff and pharmacy support staff and work directly for the principal technician for education and training.

The post holder is expected to undertake duties of a extended role pharmacy technician, and to be able to showcase best practice at all times.

The post holder will also be an educational supervisor, mentor, assessor and IQA.

Desirable

  • Qualification e.g. NVQ level 2 Team Leading or equivalent experience. ECDL or equivalent.
  • TAQA A1 / A2 award or equivalent

  • Proven Hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Experience of ward based pharmacy services.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of training/supervision of other staff.
  • Assessor experience
  • Familiar with automated dispensing experience
  • Familiar with a changing working environment
  • Familiar with well sky dispensing system
  • Familiar with well sky electronic prescribing
  • Knowledge of COSHH and health and safety
