Failsafe Officer - Skin Surgery Dermatology

Job summary

This exciting new role will provide a robust end to end tracking and management for patients on Skin surgery pathways

This would be an ideal opportunity for an experienced administrator looking to expand there skills and knowledge

The post is full time for a fixed term of two years supporting Dermatology across three sites and based at Doncaster Royal infirmary

Main duties of the job

You will be required to maintain a high standard of administrative support to the Dermatology medical admin team ensuring that robust systems are in place for the efficient management of patients on a skin surgery pathway.

Ensure that digital transcriptions are managed timely in accordance with Trust expectation.

Provide proactive waiting list coordination to ensure patients are booked in line with clinical priority and national/local waiting times and to support the best use of capacity for patient pathway.

Adopt proactive management approach to ensure best use of capacity for the patient pathway, provide a consistent patient service.

Oversee all patients pre and post skin surgery ensuring pathway are managed timely and utilise resources available to ensure milestones are adhered too

Qualification or Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or above or suitable equivalent qualification
  • RSA III or NVQ III or suitable equivalent level administrative qualification
  • ECDL or equivalent qualification / demonstrable experience

Desirable

  • Business Administration Level II Apprenticeship

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience working in a clerical/administrative role
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word
  • Customer care experience
  • Ability to work to and promote Standard operating procedures / performance targets
  • Experience of working within a busy/demanding environment. E.g. Multidisciplinary team

Desirable

  • Thorough knowledge of health care system and processes
  • Understanding of Primary Care, GP and Community Services
  • Knowledge of Referral to Treatment Patient Access Policies and procedures
  • Understanding of patient priorities and targets in relation to appointments and waiting times, specifically Referral to Treatment
