We have a rare and exciting opportunity to join a newly created in-house Data Quality Validation Team, that will be responsible for the validation of all patient pathways. The Trust is making a significant investment in the team with the creation of 17 new posts.
This is a new model and provides a chance to be part of shaping the future of validation in preparation for the new EPR (Electronic Patient Record).
You will be joining the Team at an exciting time and will take a lead role in ensuring that the Trust has high quality data to support the delivery of the highest quality of care to patients and for performance reporting.
Applicants will have a good standard of general education including GCSE English and Maths or equivalent and an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office based systems. Strong attention to detail is essential. The applicant will need to demonstrate they have good communication skills and be an excellent team player who enjoys learning. Ability to demonstrate that they have used a variety of different systems in either other roles or educational establishments is also required. NHS experience in a relevant field such as Patient Administration or Data Quality would be preferred but not essential.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role centre around the undertaking of data validation and updating data within Trust systems, primarily within the PAS (Patient Administration System. Expediting patients for further action.
You will identify any themes in data recording issues and refer onwards for action to support "right first time".
This will include an aptitude test for candidates who wish to continue with their application on the day.

The new team members will work closely alongside the already established Team, that compromises of;

- 1 Data Quality Assurance Team Leader
- 3 Data Quality Assurance Business Partners
- 4 Data Quality Assurance Officers
All team members will work across all Hospital Sites as needed.
The Department offers a flexi-time scheme, along side hybrid working for part of the week once training is complete.

- Carry out data validations related to the recording of patient events on Trust systems, primarily the Trusts PAS system. This includes validation of complex clinical pathways from beginning to end, regardless of RTT active waiter status, including Outpatients, Waiting Lists and Inpatients.
- Work closely with the Data Quality Assurance Management and Business Partner teams to drive forward improvements in data quality.
- Provide expert guidance with regard to National and local data assurance / quality rules.
- Act upon the results of sample auditing to improve skill, experience, and quality of validation outputs.
- Responsible for the timely completion of all business-as-usual Team tasks, ensuring the relevant module is updated with correct information and that data quality standards are maintained.
- Responsible for capturing any data error themes and making suggestions for improvements going forwards.
- Use advanced PAS skills / other electronic hospital information systems to interpret / analyse and translate data, including complex patient pathways.
- Contribute to continually updating a core set of pathway scenarios.
- Assist the Data Quality Management team in recommendations for the continual development and use of robust patient tracking systems.
- To be guided by the principles and operational framework of the Trusts Referral to Hospital Access Policy.
