Job summary

We are looking to appoint an exceptional leader as our head of patient engagement, experience and involvement to support continuous improvement of patient and carer experience and engagement and involvement. You will work with the Deputy Chief Nurse, divisional directors of nursing and the wider organisational teams, including operational front line staff to ensure systems and processes are in place to enhance the development and co-ordination of patient and public engagement activities and services across the Trust in order to influence the development and delivery of services. The role will suit someone with the drive and enthusiasm to really make a difference to patients by improving services, whilst recognising local differences. Main duties of the job

  • Co-creates and then delivers the Trust programme for improving the relational care aspects of patient experience. Undertakes presentations to staff groups and public which conveys highly contentious information.
  • Support Executive and Divisional Directors, Senior Managers and Clinicians in the development of robust operational plans, service plans and business cases for investment in their service areas from a patient experience and involvement perspective.
  • To set up systems to monitor the level of Plan and deliver seminars and training for staff on patient and public engagement.
  • Review all National audits and surveys in relation to patient feedback and deliver presentations to the Board, identifying areas of good practice and action plans to address areas of concern.
  • Responsible for presenting update reports on patient experience, engagement and involvement to key stakeholders, including the CCGs, CQC and the Department of Health, to drive through improvements in patient.
  • To lead on and coach and develop staff to submit and secure bids within organizations bodies to support innovative practices within department.
  • Ensure and develop new relationships with patients, public, community groups and stakeholders, promoting an integrated approach. This will include developing partnerships and mechanisms that ensure patients and public views are integral to the development, delivery and monitoring of services and new models of working.
