Renal and Diabetes Specialist Dietitian band 5 to 6 progression post.
This is a great opportunity for a forward thinking dietitian to join the Renal and Diabetes Dietetic Teams at DBTH. They will be an integral member of the supportive, proactive and experienced renal and diabetes dietetic teams and join much wider MDTs who truly value the role of the dietitian in providing specialist high quality dietetic care to patients.
The post holder will be crucial in providing timely specialist dietetic assessment and support for patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes and at different stages of chronic kidney disease as well as other renal pathologies.
Applicants will ideally have experience, specialist knowledge and skill within the areas of renal and diabetes dietetics however this post does offer the opportunity for Band 5s looking for a new challenge at Band 6 level and will offer appropriate training. Soon to be qualified dietitians will also be considered for a development role with a set of competencies requiring completion to achieve band 6.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based primarily at Doncaster Royal Infirmary with travel to Bassetlaw hospital and Montagu Hospital Mexborough.
- Providing a dietetic service to a caseload of patients using evidence based patient centred principles, to assess, plan, implement and evaluate dietetic interventions.
- Actively contribute to specialist MDTs
- Overcomes barriers to communication and acceptance and plays a role in developing educational resources for patient use.
- Sharing the role of developing and delivering training packages to staff, other health professionals and group education programmes for patients with renal disease and diabetes
- Taking responsibility for ensuring own continuing professional development, and actively participating in the Trust's clinical governance programme through audit and research activities
