Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. This post will be based in our busy Pharmacy Department at Doncaster Royal Infirmary which is fully automated.

Candidates must have GCSE qualifications in Science, English Language and Maths at Grade C or above and certificates must be provided prior to interview.

Pharmacy experience is desirable for this post but this is not essential as full training would be given. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a joint qualification of BTEC Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Science with NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Service Skills.

Applications from candidates who already possess the BTEC Level 2 / NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent are also eligible to apply for this post. Any candidate applying for this post that already possess these qualifications must provide certificates prior interview.

Main duties of the job

The Role

You will be involved in:-

  • The supply of stock medicines to wards and departments as part of a ward based clinical team;
  • The dispensing of medicines to wards;
  • Aseptic dispensing;
  • The delivery of medications to wards and departments;
  • Rotational work at Doncaster Royal Infirmary which will include late shift, Bank Holiday, Saturday and Sunday working;
  • You may also be asked to work at Bassetlaw Hospital Pharmacy as part of a rota.

The Necessary Requirements

  • GCSE Maths, English Language and Science grade A-C or equivalent (certificates of which must be provided prior interview).
  • Basic keyboard skills.
