Job summary

The Paediatric Dietetics Department at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and proactive Band 6 Dietitian, with excellent clinical skills to join their team.

This is an exciting post providing dietetic support and care to a caseload of children and young people including those who require home enteral feeding living in the Doncaster and Bassetlaw communities. In addition to managing your own case load you will have the support of senior specialist dietitians to enable you to manage complex cases and acquire knowledge of more complex management.

The post holder will be involved in service wide meetings participating in audit, clinical supervision and CPD activities.

The ideal applicant will have experience in general paediatric dietetics, however a keen interest would still be considered. This post will provide the successful candidate with a solid foundation to become a future leading paediatric dietitian.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be experienced in the delivery of dietetic care to a specialist caseload of children and young people including support patient who require enteral feed.

Supervision and support is provided by senior clinical staff.

You will be highly motivated about your work and keen to make a difference to the lives of the patients in your care. Naturally you will have excellent clinical, communications and interpersonal skills and we'll expect you to have good time management capabilities to ensure you can manage your own caseload efficiently.

About us

The Doncaster and Bassetlaw Paediatric Dietetic Service is team of 6 dietitians working across multiple clinical pathways, inpatient, outpatient and community but all delivering the very highest levels of care to our paediatric caseloads.

As a teaching hospital, opportunities are available to participate in research. The department has a track record of successful applications to Health Education England National Institute for Health Research clinical academic programmes with staff participating in the Internship and applying for Pre-Doctoral Clinical Academic Fellowship schemes.

  • 18 months working as a registered dietitian
  • Service delivery in a variety of clinical settings
