Clinical Scientist (Sterile Site Infections - Metagenomics)

Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Scientist - R&D (Sterile Site Infections - Metagenomics) to help support further service development of our UKAS accredited Metagenomics Service.

It would be desirable for you to have experience working within Molecular and have good knowledge of Metagenomics. You must be able to work with different grades of staff. An eye for details and working in an organised manner is crucial to this role.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the Principal Clinical Scientist, Clinical Scientists, Associate Practitioners and Senior Bioinformatician.

The department provides an extensive range of investigations to support the specialist patient population of this tertiary referral Paediatric hospital, in addition to providing a specialist MolecularService to other hospitals. This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a very experienced and dedicated team to gain extra skills and knowledge of Paediatric Microbiology. This is a vibrant, progressive, well equipped, and a ISO15189 accredited Laboratory.
