12 MONTH LOCUM CONSULTANT IN BONE MARROW TRANSPLANTATION
Applications are invited for a 10 PA Locum Consultant post in Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) and CAR T cell therapy based at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will join a team of consultants/speciality doctors caring for a wide variety of malignant and non-malignant diseases within the largest paediatric BMT unit in the UK. The successful candidate will be expected to be the lead consultant for BMT out-patient services, contribute to junior doctor teaching/training and work closely with data managers to supervise reporting to EBMT.Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is a postgraduate teaching hospital, linked with the Institute of Child Health (ICH). The Trust has 318 beds and provides a comprehensive range of paediatric specialties for tertiary level care. The patient population consists of over 20,000 inpatients per annum and 84,000 outpatients.
Main duties of the job
This is a one-year locum post and the post holder will be part of the CAR-T/Bone Marrow Transplant department.
The successful applicant will:
o Be part of a team of BMT specialists delivering tertiary Paediatric care for allogeneic and CAR-T cell patients (both NHS and international private patients)o Be part of the larger team of BMT and Immunology consultants, covering these services jointly out of hours.o Undertake outpatient clinical commitments.o Participate in relevant multi-disciplinary team meetings.o Participate in teaching and training of doctors and nurses.o Contribute to the BMT long term follow up service, working closely with the clinical lead for late effects in Haematology, Oncology and BMTo Lead on the development of GVHD oriented strategies for acute and chronic GVHD including developing the service to accommodate for the needs of complex pts affected by GVHD
