The Sleep Service is based within the Respiratory Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital and provides a wide range of assessments, ranging from oximetry to full polysomnography, CPAP and Bilevel ventilatory therapy. Sleep studies are performed each evening in our dedicated five-bedded Sleep Unit and on the Respiratory ward. We currently perform approximately 2500 sleep studies per annum and maintain a support service for approximately 400 children at home on long-term non-invasive ventilatory support.
We are a busy, friendly Sleep Unit team consisting of Clinical Physiologists, Respiratory Consultants and Fellows, Clinical Nurse Specialists and administrative support. We are seeking a Senior Clinical Respiratory Physiologist (0.5 WTE) to join our team.

You will be expected to work on a rolling monthly rota over 7 nights per week. The shift pattern will typically consist of 11.5 hour night shifts. The shifts may include an occasional weekend.
We can offer you a helpful, professional environment to develop your paediatric skills in treating a wide range of patient groups supplemented by regular meetings, training days and video conferences to enhance your knowledge. You should have substantial experience as a Clinical Physiologist and will have a relevant science degree or equivalent experience. RPSGT or A-STEPS completion plus RCCP, AHCS, HCPC or equivalent registration is desirable. Experience in respiratory sleep studies, and in the assessment and treatment of sleep apnoea are essential, however this does not necessarily have to be in children as comprehensive in-house training will be available to the successful applicant.
