The department

The GOSH Cardiac unit is an internationally renowned center of excellence, performing the highest volume of paediatric cardiac procedures in the UK. Our comprehensive service emcompasses all sub-specialty areas including:

Pulmonary hypertension

Inherited cardiovascular diseases

Advanced Imaging

Heart failure and transplantation

Fetal Cardiology

Electrophysiology

Interventional Cardiology

Essential Requirements

Full GMC registration with License to Pratice

MRCP or MRCPCH equivilent qualification

Prior clinical experience in paediatric cardiology or ACHD at SHO/Registrar level

Main duties of the job

Main purpose of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the continued delivery of Cardiology Services at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. This post will play a central role in the provision of cardiac services at Great Ormond Street and will work at middle grade level with the other registrars employed by the trust. This includes ward rounds, review of postoperative patients, echocardiography, and paediatric outpatient clinics. Specific duties will be dependent on relevant skills and experience.

The post may also involve duties within the cardiac transplant and pulmonary hypertension teams as required. Experience and training will/may be available in a wide range of paediatric cardiology activity including echocardiography, ECG and 24-hour ECG monitoring, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, pulmonary hypertension and management of the postoperative paediatric cardiac patient.
