Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Oncology Department working with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) team in an administrative role. You will be part of a team of two, working with the Patient Pathway Manager, required to provide high quality administrative support to a team of consultants, junior doctors, nursing staff and the associated administrative team.

You would need to enjoy a busy workload with regular weekly deadlines, providing admin support for the two main clinical MDTs within the Oncology department, with a good attention to detail and strong organisational skills. You would also manage the Cancer PTL (Patient Tracking List) and investigate patient pathways to ensure we are treating patients within the NHS Cancer Pathway guidelines.

Previous experience with RTT (Referral to Treatment) and PTL (Patient Tracking List) would be advantageous but not essential. Having previous NHS experience again would be advantageous as would EPIC experience.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be a good team player happy to work with a broad range of people with different skills. You will need to demonstrate that you can act on your own initiative, can interpret and interrogate data and patient pathways and be a confident communicator, with a particular attention to detail, to provide the highest possible standard of service to our patients, families and our internal and external colleagues.
