Job summary

o To co-ordinate the organisation and management of neurosurgery patientso To assist the multidisciplinary health care team in the timely provision of a managed service, treatment and supportive care to children and their families referred to the neurosurgery for both inpatients and day care patients.o To promote family centred care and establish good relationships with children and their families.

Main duties of the job

o To lead and work as part of the Neurosurgery team in supporting the service.o Introduce the neurosurgery teamo Provide support to parents/carer, Setting up MYGOSH and contact informationo Undertake clinical observations; temperature, pulse, respiratory and heart rate and report any abnormalities to a trained nurseo Clinic prep and investigation planningo Work as a member of the health care team to assist with the planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of the care for the children attending GOSHo Discharge planning and wound care
