Do you possess strong leadership, creative and managerial skills? We are looking for a resourceful and engaging individual to join the Volunteer Services team, and under the Head of Volunteer Services, lead thelarge weekend volunteer team. GOSH boasts a 500+ strong team of volunteers, of which approximately 150 are weekend volunteers, who provide a wide variety of support to patients, families, and staff.
The Weekend Volunteer Coordinator's main role is to manage the Weekend Club activities and thevolunteers who support the service, including selection and placement of volunteers, induction, planningactivities and events, risk management, safeguarding procedures and the on-going support and personal development of volunteers.
Main duties of the job
You will have experience of managing activities projects (youth clubs, seasonal children and young people activities, school and play projects) and also have experience managing large teams of volunteers, knowinghow to support, motivate and encourage them. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, as well a team player who loves a challenge in helping us continue to develop the volunteer programme.
