Job summary

Senior Operator Science Manufacturing Technician (Band 4) to Manufacturing Supervisor (Band 5) progression role. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, pro-active and motivated operator to join our friendly Technical Services Team.You will need to be able to work efficiently and follow procedures at all times; working proactively on your own or under supervision. Due to the critical nature of our work, you will have to meet the highest standards of discipline, personal hygiene and attention to detail.Applicants should have a strong experience in manufacturing as an operator. Ability to lead a small team is desirable. Candidates recruited into the Senior Operator role (Band 4) will be enrolled on the Science Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Scheme (Level 3).Once employees recruited into the Senior Operator role have achieved the criteria outlined in the JD for the Band 5 post, as well as achieved the internal milestones, they will be progressed to Manufacturing Supervisors (Band 5). Manufacturing Supervisors who have not completed the Science Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship (Level 3) will be obliged to complete this as a condition of their progression. Candidates applying for the post that already meet the qualification and experience criteria for a Manufacturing Supervisor (Band 5) will enter the organisation at this level.The post holder is expected to be committed to work a 1 in 5 to 1 in 8 weekend rota, Saturdays and/or Sundaysfrom 9am - 5pm

Main duties of the job

  • The post focuses heavily on the supervisory aspect of the manufacturing role and you will be required to fulfil theole of a sessional supervisor in any of the manufacturing units.
  • The post involves manufacturing a variety of different types of IV medications aseptically prepared for patients in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  • This is a rotational post covering CIVAS, Parental Nutrition & Cytotoxic units
  • A high level of accuracy is required as the post involves measuring ingredients for the manufacture of patient doses.
