We are seeking a proactive and skilled Analyst to lead on data and reporting across the GOSH Learning Academy, where education and training are at the heart of everything we do, influencing every stage of the patient journey.

Working closely with the Associate Director Business Operations, Head of Business Operations, educators, and information teams, you will be responsible for designing data collection methods and tools, ensuring data integrity, and managing data flows into our data warehouse. You will be responsible for the development of dashboards and reports, helping to evaluate the impact of GLA education and training.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have significant experience working in an analytical role and excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical colleagues. You will work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in education or healthcare settings will be beneficial, as will experience of people management and project management.

There will be opportunity for some flexible home working.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake a test as part of the interview process.

Main duties of the job

This role includes designing data collection methods and tools, ensuring data quality, managing data flows into the Trust's data warehouse and business intelligence platform (Qlik Sense), and triangulating complex datasets to analyse the impact of GLA education and training activity within the Trust and our wider healthcare setting. The Lead Performance & Business Analyst manages the GLA's Information Analyst and has oversight of the development of GLA dashboards for clinical and non-clinical audiences.

Performance Management

  • Implement the GLA Performance Framework, including working with GLA education teams on any changes in KPIs
  • Lead on the GLA's performance reporting requirements accurately and on time for internal and external submissions, including the GOSH Learning Academy Charity Grant
  • Support the GLA Operational Manager and GLA senior managers on performance related projects and tasks

Information Analysis and Business Intelligence

  • Work with Information Services and ICT teams to develop technical specifications for data warehousing, dashboards, and reports
  • Oversee dashboard development and maintenance, and be accountable for dashboard quality
  • Work with GLA teams to ensure robust and efficient data collection
  • Undertake analysis of complex or multiple datasets to answer strategic and operational questions from GLA teams
  • Proactively support information provision and share specialist knowledge, advice, and guidance on analytical matters across the GLA
