Job summary

As a Service Coordinator you should have excellent written and verbal communication; strong administrative and organisational skills, be proficient in MS Word and Excel, diary management, and minute taking. You should be able to demonstrate that you are a team player but can work independently with minimal supervision.

Main duties of the job

To provide full secretarial and administrative support to the clinical team, undertaking general typing of correspondence, reports, letters and minutes using audio or copy typing as required. To ensure all correspondence is accurate and produced within agreed timescales.

Review all patient demographics when speaking to them, to ensure that EPR is up to date. Ensuring that patients' up to date contact numbers address and GP details are up to date.

As and when required to accurately type non-routine / urgent patient related information including medical reports, minutes, and discharge summaries within a specific time frame.

To make appointment bookings following the departments procedures and protocols as well as appropriate RTT and clinical waiting times.

To escalate to the manager when a patient cannot be booked within timescales according to relevant assigned category.

Escalate any delays in appointments or any delayed referrals.

To contact patients and families following the reasonable offer criteria as per the Patient Access Policy.

Reschedule appointments where necessary in line with the Trusts Patient Access Policy. Escalating any potential breaches to the policy before actioning.
