Job summary

The Estates Department are seeking to employ a Water Compliance and Assurance Officer to assist the Water Systems Engineer and work with and directing where necessary, the in-house Hard Services team in the expert management of the Trusts complex water systems across the GOSH Estate.

You will be the Responsible Person (Water) and shall work to ensure all duties, legal requirements and responsibilities are adhered to, including the safe and compliant record keeping, whilst the Trust meets its Statutory obligations.

You will also be responsible for the delivery of planned and reactive Mechanical services across the GOSH Estate with specific responsibility for ensuring compliance, giving guidance and direction as appropriate.

A sound knowledge of water systems including the control and prevention of Legionella, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and other water borne bacteria is essential. This position will demand a highly disciplined individual who will work within stringent statutory guidelines and under own initiative.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be responsible for assisting the Water Systems Engineer, working with and directing where necessary the in-house hard services team in the expert management of our water systems
  • You will be responsible for procuring works to manage mechanical activities, produce reporting and ensure the safe and compliant storage of records to present our level of compliance.
  • You will work with a wide range of staff groups and ensure the strategic development of service-related plans and procedures related to their remit.
  • You willaid the Water services Engineer to deliver planned and reactive Mechanical services across GOSH with specific responsibility for ensuring compliance contractors are in place, giving guidance and direction as appropriate.
