Job summary

This post is designed to help maintain a high level of non-clinical services within the clinical environment. This Job Description describes the duties that come under the remit of the general Housekeeper Service. Duties that are required by individual wards are listed and described within the bespoke Service Level Agreement (SLA) for the department.

The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination of services provided by the Development and Property Services departments and will be required to work closely the associated managers and service providers. This post holder will monitor compliance with legally required standards and quality standards, report deficiencies and take appropriate action. Support will be provided by the Floor Manager and the Facilities Management team.

Main duties of the job

Have knowledge and understanding of the patient environment and its associated required standards.

Have knowledge and understanding of how the associated Estates and Facilities (EFM) Services (i.e. Catering, Portering, Linen, Works, Materials Management, Domestic Services) work and provide the individual service to the Ward and how to access these.

Follow the Trust Infection Control policies and procedures when carrying out all aspects of their role e.g., food safety, hand hygiene, decontamination, infection cleans.

Provide excellent communication between the wards and EFM to ensure effective coordination of support services at ward level.

Participate in risk and incident management in line with Trust and local Policies.

To have a full understanding of the Trust's Safeguarding Policy and Guidelines and what actions should be taken if you have any concerns.
