Job summary

We have recently relocated to a new purpose built building. We are looking for an experienced Nursery Assistant Practitioner at the Staff Nursery at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The role will involve working to provide a positive environment, fostering children's all round development.

To be considered for the role you will be:

You will need to have a minimum Childcare Level 2 qualification and experience of a Nursery Assistant role in a busy nursery environment covering the age range 3 months - 5 years, together with excellent knowledge of the child development and current practices.

This role will involve working varying shifts between the hours of Monday and Friday from 7.00am - 7.00 so some flexibility is required.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

  • To act as a key worker to named children, carrying out observations/developmental reports for each child and liaising with parents regularly
  • Working in partnership with the team and with parents, act as a positive and professional role model to colleagues and children
  • Provide a fun, exciting, learning environment for the children and to provide them with different opportunities to enhance their development
