Job summary
The Data manager will cover all aspects of the patient journey within the Endocrinology service and will involve working with the patient, internal departments, and liaison with outside agencies such as other hospitals. The post holder will use their knowledge of manipulating data and analytical skills using several systems to support the Speciality teams in delivering timely and accurate information and ensures we have consistently accurate information on all patients within the specialty.
- The post holder will be responsible for developing and improving information systems to meet the needs of the service. The post holder will also collect and present data for local and national use
- The post holder will also provide support in sourcing the data to answer information requests and queries within the department. The post holder will input patient data onto the relevant databases held at GOSH, which will be used to create activity data
- The post holder will ensure the clinical data source, collection, entry and transfer of information is of the highest standard, and will assist in the development of databases, and the systems and processes associated with them, as the needs of the service change.
- This post is part of the team of Administration staff in the JMB directorate, as such; the post holder will be expected to work as part of this team, and to provide cover for other members of the team when necessary.
Main duties of the job
- Liaising with Commissioners and other Trusts regarding data submissions
- Maintain effective working relationships with other staff members, both within the directorate and in other departments, and with external agencies. This will include other data managers working in other departments, and with external agencies.
- Answer ADHOC information requests from senior managers, researchers, clinicians etc. from within the trust.
- To collaborate with other members of the team to ensure there is cross-cover for data and performance reporting.
- To respect the confidentiality of patient data and not to disclose data to any unauthorised persons
