Job summary
We are looking for a Homecare administrator to join our Pharmacy homecare team. Excellent organisational skills will be required for this role. The post is full time, working 37.5 hours per week.
You will be highly motivated, hardworking and will thrive in an ever changing and challenging environment. This person will also have the need for good interpersonal skills, be able to demonstrate initiative and have the ability to work under pressure alone as well as part of the team.
This person will assist in the efficient and economical running of the pharmacy homecare service and the management of requests for high cost drugs.We will support and encourage training in line with the role
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for reconciling homecare delivery notes against purchase orders and approve for payment, invoices and credit notes, in line with departmental policy.
- To be responsible for the booking in of homecare items upon receipt of a proof of delivery (POD).
- To co-ordinate prescription requests within the homecare scheme to ensure the patients receive timely supplies of medication
- To ensure effective communication of patients and their medicines requirements between the staff in the pharmacy, other departments and the homecare companies
- To be responsible for the accurate dispensing of Homecare prescriptions, initially under supervision, using the Pharmacy Computer System checking proof of delivery andreconciling dispensing records as required, in accordance with departmental policy and procedures
- Identify own training and development needs and ensure personal knowledge and training is kept up to date
- Participate in an annual individual performance review process where objectives will be agreed, performance monitored, and personal development needs discussed.
