Job summary

Employee Support Officer - Band 6( 12 MONTHS FIXED TERM)

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HR Practitioner to take on this new role within our HRBP and Advice Team at GOSH. Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, you will provide dedicated employee support and welfare advice to our staff undergoing employee relations processes, ensuring that effective advice and support is provided to them in a timely and proactive manner and that they are aware and sign posted to the full range of information and health and wellbeing resources available to them. You will build rapport with them to ensure that their experience is as positive as possible escalating any concerns appropriately to support our continued commitment to managing these processes well with compassion. This role will also lead on managing the HR policy review cycle highlighting changes in employment law/legislation or feedback/lessons learned from HR case work or Employment Tribunal, working with the HRBP and Advice Team and wider directorate .

This is an excellent opportunity to use your HR expertise and experience to directly support staff navigate HR processes and work in partnership with other HR , FTSU and Trade Union colleagues.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, the Employee Support Officer, with responsibilities for policy development , will provide a professional customer-focused HR advisory service on a range of complex staffing, policy and employee support (welfare.)matters for our staff using coaching techniques and solution focussed advice that supports the work of the Trust.

You will participate in early discussions, /development and revision of employment policies and contribute to the full policy cycle, from collection of evidence, design, consultation, and implementation, including preparation for Trust Policy subgroup etc and undertaking benchmarking and equality considerations where required This is an excellent opportunity to use your HR expertise and experience to directly support staff navigate HR processes and work in partnership with other HR , FTSU and Trade Union colleagues.

The Employee Support Officer will deliver comprehensive, professional, and high-quality HR support. They will be fully conversant with the full range of trust HR policies, procedures and Health and Wellbeing support and be able to support and advise our staff going through ER processes on a range of employment issues.
