Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in the National and Specialist Tic Service and Children's Epilepsy Service (10PAs)

An exciting opportunity has opened up within the Psychological and Mental Health Services (PAMHS) at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

This is a 10 PA (programmed activities) post for a substantive Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the National and Specialist Tic Service (TS) and Children's Epilepsy Surgery Service (CESS) at GOSH. The post is based in Psychological and Mental Health Services (PAMHS) at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

The successful applicant will be joint lead of the Tic Service, a multi-disciplinary team which has diagnostic expertise in tics and functional tic like behaviours. The team has a strong emphasis on research and outcomes and is involved in projects locally, nationally and internationally. The postholder will also have clinical responsibility for psychiatric assessment and treatment in the Children's Epilepsy Surgery Service (CESS), with the aim of identifying the high prevalence of mental health and neurodevelopmental comorbidity in this population of children.

The successful applicant will supervise the specialist registrar in the Tic Service and work alongside a highly experienced MDT.

Main duties of the job

This is a 10 PA (programmed activities) post for a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with a special interest in Neuropsychiatry and Neurology. The post is based in Psychological and Mental Health Services (PAMHS) at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. This is a longstanding, well-established post at GOSH.

The postholder will share leadership of the National and Specialist Tic Service (TS) and will also be the lead in the hospital for Neurology liaison, comprising currently of 2 sessions in the Children's Epilepsy Surgery Service (CESS).
