Job summary
We are inviting applications for two full time equivalent Consultant Paediatric Interventional Neuroradiologists to work in the Interventional Radiology Department at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. The posts are for 10 PA substantive positions providing a comprehensive range of interventional neuroradiology procedures for paediatric patients. The successful candidates will need to demonstrate competency in pediatric interventional neuroradiology procedures, including extensive clinical experience in the management of neonates and infants. They will be expected to lead on the delivery and expansion of nationally delivered highly specialised services, including vein of Galen malformation, selective ophthalmic artery chemotherapy for retinoblastoma and paediatric intrathecal therapeutics.
We are the largest Paediatric Interventional Radiology Department in Europe, and the service is equipped with the latest technology designed specifically for our paediatric cohort of patients. The Service has close research links with the Institute of Child Health as well as industry to ensure we remain up to date with the latest research and technological advancements.
Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust is a postgraduate teaching hospital, linked with the UCL Institute of Child Health (ICH). The Trust provides a comprehensive range of paediatric specialties for tertiary level care.
Main duties of the job
The GOSH INR service supports the delivery of clinical care to neonates and children presenting with a broad range of complex neurological pathologies, including cerebrovascular emergencies, such as acute stroke, and neonatal vascular pathologies. Your job plan will include preoperative assessment of patients and post operative care/follow up, working collaboratively with clinical teams within the trust to deliver high quality specialist care.

- Interpretation of diagnostic imaging of paediatric neurovascular pathologies
- Lead on MDT planning and management of complex paediatric neurovascular conditions in a national and internationally expert specialist
- Experience of teaching students, doctors and allied health professionals
- Management experience, including experience of leading delivery of nationally commissioned highly specialised services
