Job summary

Are you looking to help shape and lead a small but busy internal communications team at a world leading children's hospital? We're looking for someone who wants to develop their career in internal communications, supporting the head of the team to drive comms and engagement with our 5,000 plus staff. You'll be supported to develop in the role to deliver best in class communications, drawing on your experience of engagement with internal audiences.

This role leads on strategic programmes while also taking responsibility for content across our internal channels, from our weekly all staff newsletter to staff engagement events. You'll take responsibility for our key internal communications channels while playing a key role in developing our team to be the best it can be in supporting and advising the organisation on best practice in internal communications and engagement.

Main duties of the job

Strategico Contribute to the delivery and future development of the internal communications elements of the communications and marketing strategy, building a position as a trusted advisor to colleagues and supporting the team in delivering high quality communications for our stakeholders.o Ensure internal communications enable staff to understand the Trust's vision, ambitions, and values.o Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information and translate into meaningful, appropriate messages for multiple audiences using persuasive, motivational negotiating skills to engage with stakeholders.o Lead the team in developing and implementing a communication strategy for the GOSH transformation programme, interpreting highly complex facts or situations to distil a meaningful narrative for audiences.o Lead the team to develop and implement a communication plan for Speak Up and other culture and engagement programmes, using internal communications theory and best practice.o Support the head of internal communications and engagement to embed the new intranet and ensure its continuous development.
