Job summary
Our Medical HR team is looking for a Medical HR Advisor who can make an impact from day one.
As one of the key contact points for the Medical HR Team, you will help support nominated directorates across the hospital with their recruitment needs, both in terms of supporting candidates through our recruitment process and suggesting recruitment strategies for specific roles, as well as providing comprehensive Medical HR advice on recruitment related queries, terms and conditions of employment, and carrying out recruitment and pre-employment activity for Junior Doctors, SAS Doctors and Consultant Medical Staff.
As the successful candidate, you will need to be have very strong organisational and administrative skills, passionate about recruiting safely and quickly, be innovative and committed to achieving consistent excellence across the service.

Main duties of the job
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process i.e. from requisition through to pre-employment checks, ESR (payroll system) hiring tasks and issuing contracts for Junior Doctors, SAS Doctors and Consultant Medical Staff.
- Responsible for monitoring and keeping track of the junior doctor establishment.
- Provide advice on Terms and Conditions for Medical and Dental Staff
- Provide a high-quality recruitment service in accordance with Trust policy and national guidelines
- Ensure all recruitment associated paperwork is of a high and accurate standard, complying with employment legislation, national guidelines and Trust procedures e.g., job descriptions, person specifications and adverts
- Coordinate and administrate the recruitment of medical staff for all grades (including Advisory Appointment Committees for the recruitment of substantive Consultants
- Advertise vacancies across multiple platforms, including NHS Jobs, national publications and social media where required
- Work with Director General Managers & Service Managers, Guardian of Safe Working and Finance to ensure the effective management of the Medical Staffing Establishment, discussing identified cost pressures and raising issues as appropriate
- Ensure newly recruited staff undertake pre-employment checks in a timely manner adhering to NHS Employment Check Standards and Trust Key Performance Indicators
- Apply for sponsorship certificates (visas) for staff where necessary complying with national Right to Work rules and regulations
