Job summary

You will form part of an administrative and clerical team providing comprehensive administrative support to the Radiology Service, in particular the General Radiology Department. Under the guidance of the Team Leader and the managerial team, the post-holder will assist with general administrative / clerical duties and provide cross cover during periods of absence.

You will be required to provide a professional and positive administration support to the department. The role involves excellent organisational skills, customer care, reliable and consistent service and robust team working and provision of cover.

The post includes being able to communicate with families and children in an appropriate and sensitive manner, supporting the Trust code of confidentiality.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide general administrative support such as photocopying, answering telephone calls, and assisting the administrative team with organisation of clinics and admissions
  • To check in patients arriving to the department
  • To book Radiology appointments using EPIC, the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system as per request from IR Clinicians or Service Coordinators
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to exercise diplomacy and a good telephone manner.
  • To develop competence in using EPIC, the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system to provide assistance to the administration team
  • Extend existing competences through participation in an appraisal system, identifying learning goals with line manager and document annually in a personal development plan
